Two free stealth models — Hunter Alpha and Healer Alpha — appeared on OpenRouter on March 11, offering up to 1,000,000 tokens of context for $0.

Specs and cost

Hunter Alpha ships with a 1M token context window; Healer Alpha is the smaller sibling at 260K. Both are listed as fully free on OpenRouter, with no input or output pricing visible at launch. For comparison, Claude Opus on a 1M context tier costs $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output — roughly 5x the window Hunter Alpha exposes.

Healer Alpha is the multimodal variant: vision and audio are enabled, Hunter Alpha is not. The creator's own framing — "designed for precision frameworks that like openclaw need" — signals an agentic, not chat, use case.

Origin is unknown — and that's the point

No lab has claimed either model. Reddit users are stress-testing for Chinese-language leakage to back the DeepSeek theory, since DeepSeek has not shipped a major release in roughly 18 months and skipped the spring window where MiniMax, Kimi, and Qwen all moved. The creator compares it to the DeepSeek rollout playbook: paper plus model, "just better than everything else, much cheaper." The earlier Pony stealth drop later resolved to GLM-5, so precedent exists for the anonymous-release pattern.

What to test

Both are already wired into the OpenClaw 311 release, so any agent workflow on that version can point at them directly. The creator's standing rule — agents degrade once context fills past ~40% — means a 1M window is only useful if quality holds past 400K tokens, which has not yet been benchmarked.

Pricing reality check

The "free" tier is almost certainly a launch promotion, not a sustained price. If Hunter Alpha's pre-release economics survive contact with real traffic, it would undercut every 1M-context competitor on the market today. That's the bet worth watching over the next 7 days.
