Companion notes

Hermes Agent v0.060 ships an MCP server, profile isolation, an official Docker image, and a Yolo mode to bypass its own security prompts.

MCP Server Mode — The Headliner

Version 0.060 flips the usual MCP direction: instead of Hermes calling out to MCP tools, other clients connect *into* it. The creator says it exposes Hermes model to cloud desktop, to cursor, to VS code, so you can drive a Hermes agent from Claude Code and see exactly what it's doing. He calls it really big and frames it as the most creative use case he can think of — including a world-master demo where Claude Code commands Hermes in-game.

Profiles With Full Isolation

The second-biggest change is shared-agent profiles. The Boxmining team currently runs agents on individual servers to keep them from stepping on each other. With profile isolation, multiple users can share one orchestrator and one presentation-maker agent without collisions — the analogy used on camera: fingerprint recognition. On the migration test, only three of my profiles survived after the dry run, so expect friction.

Docker, Chinese-Market UI, and Yolo Mode

Hermes MCP official Docker image lands in this release, aimed at teams that want a one-click sort of thing rather than per-server setups. The UI now ships with going straight for the Chinese market localization. There's also a new Yolo mode toggle to skip Hermes's hardened security prompts — relevant because Hermes agents have access to a lot of files and the new mode is opt-out, not opt-in.

Migration: Don't Do It Manually

The creator's co-host gave up on a manual migration after missing dependency installs. The worked path: run cloud code on the server that you're migrating to, have it read this documentation, then have it execute the dry run and the actual move. Skipping the dependency-install step is what wiped most of his profiles.

What Stays The Same

Agent-first design and the security posture are unchanged — Yolo mode is an escape hatch, not a redesign. The Boxmining backend is no longer running open cloud; it's running Hermes, and they're migrating every internal workflow onto it next.

2-Hour Live Stream Reference

The team references a prior 2-hour live stream showing how their agents are deployed on individual servers, which is the setup profile-isolation is meant to replace.
