Companion notes

MaxClaw ships a pre-configured OpenClaw for $20/mo with zero setup, built on Miniax v2.15.

## What You Get Sign in at agent.minia.io with Google, pay $20/month, and MaxClaw is live — no OpenAI embeddings to enable, no chat-app wiring, no memory config. The box runs Maxclaw on Miniax servers, pre-files your identity/SOUL/bootstrap files (downloadable and editable), and includes refreshed daily credits. A Mini Max mobile app on Apple and Android mirrors the same agent, so phone and browser stay in sync.

## Why It Beats A Mac Mini The creator warns that installing OpenClaw directly on a Mac Mini means granting "system access," which he calls "extremely dangerous" because current models still hallucinate — and he has the receipts (a message sent to his girlfriend at 3am). MaxClaw keeps the agent sandboxed while still giving it web access, so you can run research and due diligence without handing over your life. The channel used it to have Miniax do due diligence on Miniax and produce a usable report.

## Power-User Upgrades Once you're comfortable, bolt on Miniax's $20/mo coding plan, paste the key into MaxClaw, and switch the base URL to route through Claude Code — that's what the channel used to build a Windows-95-style video browser in one session. The agent (named Maximoff, per the Discord setup) already syncs into their team workflow.

## Known Rough Edges The deployed OpenClaw is "a slightly older version" — v2.15 at test time. Miniax is "hyper task oriented" and "very precise" (one-to-one Windows 95 clone), but it "enters the dumb zone faster" past 40% context. Use the in-app Restart button — it clears the context window in ~10 seconds and the agent auto-recovers after 48 hours of inactivity with memory intact.

## Pricing Note The service was previously free; it now charges $20/mo. Creator's call: pick monthly, not annual, while you evaluate.
