Companion notes

OpenClaw 4.7 adds a unified infer hub, a memory wiki, and AI "dreaming" — the biggest feature drop since 4.1.

Memory wiki + dreaming

The killer combo is Wiki Memory + the Dream feature (rolled out in 4.5). Wiki centralizes memories the way Andrej Karpathy suggested — "put it in the wiki, god damn it" — replacing the old mess of individual memory files and database lookups. Dreaming, borrowed from Claude Code, runs after sessions to automatically promote useful memories and demote stale ones, replacing the manual "hey OpenClaw, update your memory" workflow. Still in preview, still some manual work, but the channel calls it "good systems going on that are modern and working" versus March's memory that was "stuck on by sticky tape."

Unified infer interface

A new openclaw infer hub consolidates model calls, web access, and embeddings into one integration point. Small in isolation, but it cleans up the developer surface.

Media generation baked in (4.5)

Video and music generation are now native — no more custom skills like nano banana. Supported models include Runway, Grok AI, and MiniMax Music, plus new sound-effect generation. Ideal for content creators who don't want to hand-roll skills.

Webhooks, snapshots, providers

New webhooks let you call OpenClaw from inside Claude Code, and session compact points + snapshots are finally in (the host notes "it should have been there from square one"). Provider support is the real play: bring-your-own-model with Qwen, Z.AI, Xiaomi, MiniMax all hot — cheaper than Claude Code even if the quality gap remains.

Security still bleeding

4.7 hardens the hardcoded exec-tool mess from 4.1. The host warned previously it won't be 100% fixed, and it isn't — more patches incoming.

The migration question

Stark, the channel's main agent, has moved to Hermes because terminal/cron execution and skill handling are "more clear." OpenClaw still wins for media creators on cost + features; Hermes wins for transparent agent control. Final call coming "this week."
