NemoClaw Setup Guide: FASTEST Way to Install
Video summary
Companion notes
NeMoClaw is a security/privacy wrapper on top of OpenClaw, not a fork — and you can install it in one line by asking your existing agent.
What NeMoClaw actually is
NeMoClaw is "an open-source security privacy layer for openclaw" built on top of the OpenClaw foundation, developed with Peter Steinberger (the OpenClaw creator). It wraps your existing agent setup with isolated sandboxes, policy-based guard rails, network isolation, data privacy controls, a privacy router, and hybrid model strategy. The stated goal: solve the fact that "these agents need system access and that creates a lot of risk."
Don't start from scratch — delegate it
The creator's recommended path: send your existing OpenClaw orchestrator agent (his is called Stark) the line nvidia.com/nemo and let it handle installation. Stark is currently running on Opus / Sonnet 4.6 for architecture, which is enough to manage the install. You do not need to rebuild from terminal. A new Discord bot token plus a new Zebra server is the entire footprint.
The $2/mo minimum stack
- Zebra server: $2/month, 2 GB RAM is sufficient.
- Discord bot token: new one per NeMoClaw agent.
- Model: free tier works — use
nvidia.com/nemotron-3-super(the creator mis-spoke it as "Neotron 3 Super") on OpenRouter at $0/M input and $0/M output tokens. Alternatives:Hunter Alphaorminimax-m2.5for task execution.
Avoid Windows + Docker Desktop
The creator hit "a lot of problems" attempting a Windows local install via Docker Desktop and abandoned it. He asks viewers to share working Windows setups in comments or Discord.
What the creator did not change
He refused to retrofit NeMoClaw onto his existing OpenClaw production agents ("we have a good thing going already"). For now, it runs as a separate agent on Discord only.
